Happy Birthday Pop Up Box Card with Lezlye

Let’s Celebrate! Welcome to Lori’s Blog, Lezlye here from Lezlye Lauterbach Designs today to share the fabulous Birthday Pop Up Box Cards. I chose this one because I have a few friends with birthday’s this month including me!

I chose some pretty patterned papers and I embellished with inks, stickles and enamel dots.

This photo here shows how the stars are suspended behind the cake. The card folds to be a size 5.5 x 5.5 card.

I inked the papers and pieces using distress ink because it blends so well. On the package I actually spritzed it with water and removed some of the ink. The Top of the gift as well as the cake were run through my big shot with and embossing folder to add texture to them. Ink and embossing powders were added and heated on the dry embossed pieces.

I used my Cricut Explore to cut all of the pieces except this sentiment. I pulled my cameo out for that so that the letters came out clean. I love the look of these two fonts together! I hope you enjoyed how I spruced up my card, get some of these Awesome files and try it yourself!

  1. I love this type of your cards. I made my first one last week, but I’m still trying to decide where to put my ‘inside’, where I can add a note and signature. Also, I’ll need to make an envelope to go with it because the square ones I have are a hair too small, but I think I already have a file that I can adjust, just have to find it.
I purchased the file with the balloons, which is adorable. I plan on purchasing more of these.
Thanks so much for your beautiful work!!!

  2. Thanks for this – it is so helpful to get a jump start on how to embellish these cards to truly make them unique. You have a great ideas and I appreciate them. I especially like putting some of the pieces through the Sizzix for texture. It would be helpful to have suggestions for envelope templates for these cards.

  3. Can you please recommend a Silhouette cut file for the proper size envelope for these cards? I love making them, struggle with finding envelopes that fit. Thanks.

  4. Is there a file for an envelope for these cards. I have tried all my envelopes and the card won’t fit.
    Thanks in advance
